Nonprofit Partners in the News
Nonprofit Partner, Rebuilding Together Philadelphia, was spotlighted in the Philadelphia Inquirer:
“Repairing Philly Rowhouses One Block at a Time.”
“RTP seeks out owner-occupied homes in economically challenged neighborhoods, mostly in North and West Philly. After the organization confirms the owners have clear titles to their properties, licensed contractors upgrade electrical and other essential systems, while volunteers supervised by trained professionals install new flooring, modernize kitchens, and replace windows where necessary.

Nonprofit Partner, Philadelphia Aging People in Prison Human Rights Campaign shares this very important article:
“On any given day, thousands of women leave homes across America and enter prison voluntarily. They furnish their own transport, often traveling for hours on public trains and buses. They clothe themselves and their children according to the correctional dress code, submitting to searches of their bodies and belongings and myriad forms of intimate regulation and humiliation. To refer to these mothers, grandmothers, partners, and co-parents of the imprisoned as “visitors” is to miss most of what is happening as they circulate in and out of prison facilities en masse.”

Empowering Older Adults in Philadelphia: The Sarah Ralston Foundation Launches Annual May Fundraiser
The Sarah Ralston Foundation, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable, underserved older adults in Philadelphia County, is launching its annual May Fundraiser in honor of Older Americans Month.
The Foundation seeks to address challenges faced by older adults in the community, including access to affordable healthcare, housing and food insecurity, loneliness, and social isolation.
Lynette Killen, Executive Director of The Sarah Ralston Foundation, emphasized the significance of the May Fundraiser in bolstering support for older adults in Philadelphia: “As May approaches, we’re coming together to advocate for the well-being of older adults in our community. Together, we can strive to provide every older adult with the opportunity to age with dignity and grace.”
Through the May Fundraiser, the Foundation aims to raise funds to support organizations that provide essential services and resources to older adults in need. These services range from access to high-quality healthcare and support for caregivers to housing assistance and social connection programs.
The Foundation invites individuals and businesses alike to join in this important initiative by making a donation to the May Fundraiser. Contributions can be made easily through the Foundation’s online donation platform at www.givebutter.com/sarahralstonfoundation.
“Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults in Philadelphia,” said Killen. By coming together as a community, we can empower older adults to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.”
Together, let’s make a difference for older adults in Philadelphia!
