Today is a big day. As we launch The Sarah Ralston Foundation, we want to personally welcome you to get to know us, our mission, and our grantmaking vision.
As a nonprofit organization based in West Philadelphia we provided resources to the local aging community for decades—and we have had an even longer history of serving older adults, going back to our founding. We have always been an organization that adapts to the time and current need at hand, and that’s why, as we took a hard look at our city, its changing demographics and stark healthcare inequities, we decided to evolve yet again.
Rather than provide our own services we will be helping fund and support organizations already doing great work in this field, with a focus on innovative ideas and partnerships that amplify those efforts. We are specifically interested in those organizations that
- improve access to affordable, equitable, and high-quality care
- Improve access to affordable equitable, and high-quality housing
- prevent isolation
- provide care for behavioral and mental health issues
- support caregivers
- coordinate the care of older adults in Philadelphia.
We encourage you to apply for grants, help spread the word about the Foundation, and get in touch with any ideas for projects or programs that can help older people age in place in our city.
