The Sarah Ralston Foundation is both proud and bittersweet as we announce the upcoming retirement of our esteemed Executive Director, Lynette Killen, at the end of 2024. Lynette’s six years of devoted service have been marked by remarkable leadership, significant transitions, and steadfast advocacy for older adults.
Under Lynette’s guidance, the Foundation navigated pivotal changes, including the closure of My Way and the sale of the historic Ralston House. Her vision and expertise were instrumental in establishing the Foundation as a private non-operating entity, contributing $2 million to non-profit agencies in its first year. With decades of dedication to the aging field since the late 1970s, Lynette’s legacy extends beyond her time at the Foundation. From hospitals to community agencies, her work and board commitments have continually supported the well-being of elders.
Lynette’s passion for enhancing the lives of vulnerable older adults is evident in her statement: “Ralston Center and now, The Sarah Ralston Foundation, have re-kindled my passion and energy for serving older adults. Working with a team that takes the time to know its community and its grant partners energizes me daily. Knowing who you are working with, collaborating with, and serving are key core elements to my approach to how and what I do.”
Board Chair Benjamin Hoyle echoes this sentiment. “Lynette created a strong foundation that will guide the organization into the future. We remain committed to continuing the legacy she has shaped,” he said.
Join us in thanking Lynette for her unwavering dedication and wishing her joy in her upcoming chapter. Stay tuned for future updates on the announcement of the new Executive Director.
